The Fourth of July is getting closer, which means summer plans are starting to take shape. If you’re looking for a memorable night out, Anaheim has plenty of options before the fireworks even begin.

This week brings rooftop views, live performances, and a few low-key ways to enjoy the season without overcomplicating it.

💵 Anaheim proposes 8% budget boost for 2026-2027

The Gist: Anaheim is looking at an 8% budget expansion for the upcoming year, totaling a 2.6 billion dollar spending plan. The extra cash will fund a record 431 sworn police officers and 250 firefighters, alongside a new ambulance contractor and a 500,000 dollar upgrade for the West Anaheim Police Station.
Why It Matters: For Anaheim families, this means quicker emergency response times and safer neighborhoods, especially in West Anaheim. Our tourism economy is booming with hotel taxes projected to hit 253 million dollars. It’s a huge win for community safety, and with old 1990s resort bonds getting paid off by 2027, our city's financial future looks incredibly bright.
🎓 An Oxford Academy senior earned a national scholarship
The Gist: Daniel Hwang, a senior at Oxford Academy in the Anaheim Union High School District, was named among Orange County's 2026 National Merit college-sponsored scholarship recipients, earning an award tied to USC. Recipients first scored in the top one percent on the qualifying exam, then advanced through a review of academics, leadership, and community involvement.
Why It Matters: Anaheim Union routinely moves students into competitive college pathways, and seeing local names on a countywide honor list is a quiet point of neighborhood pride.

While the Basque-inspired kitchen turns out perfectly charred dry-aged ribeyes and savory beef empanadas year-round, the real summer draw is their exclusive 21+ Red, White & Rooftop celebration, offering a prime 360-degree vantage point for the holiday fireworks.
