If May felt busy, June looks ready to raise the stakes. The event calendar is filling up fast, Disneyland is rolling out new attractions, and there are plenty of opportunities to support local businesses along the way.

We also included a quick reminder about the upcoming primary election. A few minutes spent voting can have an impact that lasts a lot longer than a weekend.

🗳️ Voting in California's June Primary in Anaheim

The Gist: Mail-in ballots are arriving for California’s statewide primary election on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Anaheim has opened 12 drop boxes, including spots at ARTIC, Boysen Park, and Euclid Library, plus numerous in-person vote centers. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through June 1, stretching from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. While no local city offices or measures are on this ballot, residents will cast votes for governor and other statewide races.

Why It Matters: Even without local city council seats on the ballot, these statewide decisions heavily shape the funding and policies that ripple right back into our neighborhood. Walking down to a local drop box or visiting a neighborhood vote center is a simple way to ensure Anaheim’s voice is heard in Sacramento.

What's Next:

  • May 26–June 1: Special pop-up voting services are open at the Braille Institute Anaheim Center.

  • May 30: A larger wave of neighborhood vote centers will open up at local schools and churches citywide.

  • June 2: Election Day is the final day to vote, with polls and drop boxes closing at 8 p.m.

🏰 A summer fun extravaganza for kids at Disneyland

The Gist: Disneyland is kicking off the summer season early with new attractions and a special deal for families. The park just launched a new Mandalorian and Grogu mission on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride and opened a Bluey's Best Day Ever interactive experience at the Fantasyland Theatre. Best of all, families can currently get a special kids' summer ticket offer that lets children ages 3 to 9 visit both theme parks for just $50 with a one-day Park Hopper ticket.

Why It Matters: By bringing in preschool favorites like Bluey alongside new Star Wars adventures, the park is making sure there is something special for every kid in our community. It is a great excuse to head down the road and enjoy some world-class entertainment right in our neighborhood's backyard.

What's Next:

  • June 19: The Celebrate Soulfully: Summer Vibes event begins in Downtown Disney, featuring marching band performances to honor Black heritage.

  • July 2: Disney California Adventure debuts Soarin’ Across America, a new flight simulator celebrating the nation's 250th anniversary.

  • August 9: The year-long Disneyland Resort 70th celebration officially comes to a close.

  • August 14: The park debuts A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps, a new guided tour featuring access to Walt Disney’s private apartment.

🍉 A taste of Syria right by the stadium

2414 E Katella Ave, Anaheim

Hello summer, goodbye predictable dinner plans. Since moving to Katella Avenue, Aleppo’s Kitchen has become the ultimate spot to map out a feast just minutes from Angel Stadium.

Chef Suher Masri’s patio opens at 6 PM, making it easy to share grilled halloumi with watermelon, charcoal-grilled khash-khash, and their signature walnut muhammara dip. It is exceptionally warm, entirely unpretentious, and well worth booking ahead.
