🚗 Anaheim Welcomes Smithsonian Lowrider Exhibit

The Gist: A new bilingual Smithsonian exhibit, “Lowrider Culture in the United States / Cultura Lowrider en los Estados Unidos,” opens September 13 at the Muzeo Museum and runs through December 14. The show highlights more than 80 years of lowrider history with photos, prints, and objects that showcase the artistry and technology behind this cultural movement.
Why It Matters: It’s a chance for locals to celebrate the deep Mexican American roots of lowriding and its lasting impact on art, identity, and community. Read more here.
⚡ Power Lines Going Underground for Fire Safety

Photo from anaheim.net
The Gist: Anaheim is on track to finish moving all city-owned power lines in high fire-risk areas underground by late 2026. Crews are already working on the final seven segments around Anaheim Hills, including near Deer Canyon, Oak Canyon Nature Center, and Nohl Ranch Road.
Why It Matters: Underground lines are far less likely to spark wildfires, a major concern in California’s hills. This project makes the community safer and reduces the need for disruptive power shutoffs. The work should wrap up before the end of next year. Read more here.
