October is off to a fast start (literally, if you hit the track at K1 Speed). The weather’s finally cooling down, and there’s something spooky (and sweet) happening almost every day around town.

We’ve rounded up all the fall flavors this week, from magic shows to pancake breakfasts to glow-in-the-dark dance parties. There’s even a Lebanese bakery tucked away in Little Arabia that’s worth every carb.

Scroll down, pick a favorite, and make some local plans.

🥖 Fresh-Baked Bites & Middle Eastern Magic

512 S Brookhurst St Ste #5, Anaheim, CA

If you know, you know: Forn Al Hara is the spot in Little Arabia for pillowy-fresh manaeesh and fatayer baked to order. Locals swear by the cheese boat, za’atar flatbreads, and spinach-and-cheese minis (perfect for mixing and matching).

The vibe is warm and transportive: like stepping straight into a Lebanese bakery, complete with mint tea and pistachio ice cream to finish. Go hungry, order a spread, and thank us later. Learn more here.

🏎️ Speed, Snacks, and Surprise Stats Await

1000 N Edward Ct, Anaheim, CA

K1 Speed is where the thrill of racing meets a full day of fun. The all-electric karts fly through a tunnel and tricky turns, giving both kids and adults a real adrenaline rush.

Families love the short waits on weekdays, plus everyone gets racing stats right after the checkered flag. Between runs, grab a bite in the Paddock Lounge or hit the arcade. It’s fast-paced, friendly, and surprisingly addictive. Learn more here.

💻 Computers for Veterans

The Gist: Congressman Lou Correa recently delivered 10 mini-desktop computers to Patriots and Paws, a nonprofit that helps veterans transition into civilian life. The Anaheim facility provides free furniture and household goods to veterans setting up new homes, with delivery costs as the only expense.

Why It Matters: These refurbished computers, restored by the nonprofit Heroes Deserve Help, will give veterans access to Office 365 and support their studies at local colleges. Patriots and Paws is open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Read more here.

🏨 Anaheim Redirects Hotel Tax to Housing Aid

The Gist: Anaheim will set aside about $3 million a year from its hotel tax to create affordable housing programs for hotel workers. The move shifts funds that were once focused mainly on marketing and transportation projects. Plans include down-payment loans for first-time buyers, emergency rent assistance, and new affordable housing development within the tourism district.

Why it matters: Many hotel workers struggle with high housing costs, and this decision gives them a path to stability close to where they work. Public hearings begin this fall, with funds expected by February. Read more here.
