There's something about August evenings that makes it a bit easier to say yes to getting out of the house. The sun hangs around a little longer, dinner turns into a walk, and suddenly your calendar has room for a concert, a market, or one more stop before heading home.

This week brings one of Anaheim's biggest food traditions back downtown, along with plenty of local events that remind us how much is happening across the city. Time to find something that becomes your new favorite.

🍽️ Taste of Anaheim returns Friday

The Gist: The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce's signature Taste of Anaheim food and beverage festival returns this Friday, August 7, from 5 to 9 PM on the Center Street Promenade in downtown. Up to 2,000 attendees are expected for an evening of unlimited tastings from local restaurants, breweries, and wineries, plus live entertainment.

Why It Matters: Taste of Anaheim is the rare public event that pulls neighborhood spots from every district onto one downtown street. Ticket revenue also supports Chamber programming.

🏰 Several Disneyland attractions reopen

The Gist: Multiple Disneyland Resort attractions that closed for spring and summer refurbishment are on track to reopen in August, per Pasadena Star News reporting. The month also brings big calendar shifts across the parks, with Disneyland's 70th Anniversary celebration wrapping on August 9, the new World of Color – ONE nighttime show debuting August 10, and Halloween Time beginning August 21.

Why It Matters: For Anaheim residents, Disney's calendar moves are less about the park itself and more about what they mean for local traffic, hotel occupancy, and the rhythm of the Katella corridor. The August 21 Halloween Time start marks the point where crowds shift up for the fall season.

🍜 Slow-simmered perfection in a quiet corner

9884 Katella Ave, Anaheim

Pho HN quietly serves some of the neighborhood's richest, clearest broths. Mama Tran’s kitchen delivers massive portions with effortless warmth, from tender flank steak pho dac biet to crispy egg rolls and pork belly vermicelli bowls.

It is a serene spot for a late-summer meal, whether refueling with a fresh mango shake after a sun-soaked afternoon or settling in for a generous $15 lunch.

⚡ Slower moves that make time speed up

207 W Center Street Promenade, Anaheim

Pulse Lagree opened early this year on Center Street Promenade, built by a nurse who noticed how hard it is to carve out forty-five minutes for ourselves. It centers on slow, high-intensity movement using the Megaformer to build genuine strength without beating up your joints.

There is still time to grab a card for their summer bingo challenge through August, plus introductory rates for your first class.
