OCVIBE Unveils Design for New 5,000-Capacity Concert Hall in Anaheim

The Gist: OCVIBE revealed designs for a 5,000-capacity concert hall opening in early 2027 near Honda Center, designed by architecture firm Populous with flexible space for concerts, comedy, esports, and private events. The venue will be Orange County's first of its size and part of a larger entertainment district that includes Honda Center and the planned Golden Bear revival, creating a connected campus where artists can perform at venues ranging from 300 to 18,000 seats.

Why It Matters: Orange County will have a mid-size touring venue that currently doesn't exist, potentially attracting artists who skip the region because it lacks options between small clubs and large arenas.

Downtown Disney brings back free Halloween movie nights

The Gist: Downtown Disney will screen eight family-friendly Halloween movies on Wednesday nights from Sept. 9 through Oct. 28 at the Downtown Disney Live stage in Anaheim, with no admission charge. Showtimes haven't been announced yet, though last year's inaugural event started at 7 p.m., and Halloween-themed food will be available during the screenings.

Why It Matters: You can watch movies outdoors for free instead of paying for tickets or streaming services.
